Opticians are nationally recognized and respected healthcare professionals, certified in every state. They work alongside optometrists and ophthalmologists to elevate eye care, delivering exceptional expertise and service to patients who rely on spectacles and contact lenses.

Our History
Founded in 2024, the United Opticians Association (UOA) is the only national organization representing 73,000 opticians and 17 accredited college programs across the United States. Our work supports national policy efforts, expands access to accredited training, and strengthens the workforce behind quality vision care.
Support for UOA helps drive progress in optical technology, frame and lens design, patient care, and professional development.
